Favorite things to share…

Through my life, I have picked up things, seen things, or shared things because they made a positive impression on me.  Here are a few of those things…

Sports: Top of the list is the Olympics!  anytime that athletes come together to show their efforts of dedication & training, is inspirational.  Next on the list, are athletes who have had great opportunity in sports and share their “wealth” with their communities and countries.  Such as;  Lance Armstrong, Steve Nash, Trevor Linden, Mario Lemieux.  And a special mention to one of the most inspirational athletes of the 20th Century – Terry FoxIMG_0183

~ Books: When I first started to travel a lot, and often at times by myself, I would carry a book that helped me to relax, re-balance and remember that there are a lot of good people in this world.  During moments or times that I would feel overwhelmed, fearful or in need of reassurance, I would read a chapter, or just randomly open to a page.  A couple of the books that I read are:  The Way of the Peaceful Warrior – by Dan Millman.           The Power of Now – by Eckhart Tolle.              Seat of the Soul – by Gary Zukav.           Me to We – Craig & Marc Kielburger.         The Mastery of Love – Don Miguel Ruiz

~ Quilting: I have just started to quilt blankets… blankets of all sizes!  I feel like I have finally carved out a creative expression in the form of colors, fabric, and comfort :)   A couple of quilting inspirations are:  Project Improv, started by a quilting blogger, Tall Grass Prairie Studio,  to bring together quilters. Each person makes a designated Block, then mails it in to be made into a blanket, that will then be  donated.     Many Hands Blankies - designed by Fun Quilts, and made by developmentally disabled adults.

~ Products: Lunabar and Clifbar.  Not only are their bars good to eat, but the company is exceptional in their strive for sustainability on all levels… product, employees, environment.  Lunabar sponsors a Pro women’s sports team, (mtn. biking, cyclocross, xterra racing), and a movement to inspire women to get outside and play!  As well, raising awareness for Breast Cancer prevention with the Breast Cancer Fund.  Check them out: www.lunabar.com/pages/teamluna
